The Reading Area Water Authority will begin flushing the water distribution system starting Monday March 30, 2020 thru Friday April 12, 2020.

The areas involved will be north city line to Walnut Street and North 8th Street, North 9th Street eastward to Hampden Boulevard & North 13th Street.

Short-term low water pressure and discolored water may be experienced during this time.  The system should return to normal 30 minutes after flushing is completed in your area

Free Potable Water Beginning Monday March 16, 2020

Reading Area Water Authority is offering free potable water to customers that would like to fill containers for drinking purposes or any other customer need.  

Beginning Monday March 16, 2020 at 8:00 am through 8:00 pm, the RAWA portable Water Buffalo will be available to residents wishing to fill containers with clean, safe drinking water.   The Water Buffalo will be available 7 days a week until further notice.

Lift of boil water notice

The boil water notice for the Northeast area of the city from Saturday July 27, 2019 has been lifted as of 8 am this morning.

RAWA is currently working on repairing 2 water main breaks.  One is located in the 1400 block of Crowder Ave and the 2nd one is located in the 1500 block of Schuylkill Ave.  Please drive carefully in these areas.  Boil Water notices will be issued for the properties that are affected.
