  1. In RAWA’s September19th press release, there are unsubstantiated claims, about an unnamed (mysterious) third party, intentionally damaging the water mains under Pottsville Pike.

If that is true, it amounts to sabotage.

Has RAWA filed a police report, about this suspected sabotage? If so, was the police report shared with the Reading Eagle? Doing so would enable the reporter to strike a more collaborative stance, working with you, to get the message out to the community.

Does RAWA have a Public Relations / Social Media Officer?

I am a Client Executive for a large IT company, providing cloud hosting. It is a similar function, as providing water. Although we have outages, that prevent our customers from functioning (unfortunately), we do NOT believe that we we are constantly operating “in crisis mode.” That characterization in your press release is a farce, no matter what the Reading Eagle published.

My team (providing IT services / cloud hosting) is oriented toward technical excellence (to prevent outages), and customer service, focused on sharing status information and root cause analyses when outages occur, with our customers. Due to service level agreements in our contracts, whenan outage occurs, we have to pay funds back to our customers, to compensate for the loss of service. We certainly have a sense of urgency when necessary; but, are not in constant crisis mode.

In general, I want to commend RAWA for the improvement in information sharing that has developed, since July. It is very helpful, to be able to retrieve the Boil Water Advisory notices online. It is a good first step, in awareness and communication!

Are there other reports, such as of repair investigations, that you are required to be submitting regularly to the PUC or other state agencies? If so, why not provide links to those reports — if they are public record anyway — on your website?
    Thanks

PS I m a customer. I live and work from home, in the 1400 block of Alsace Rd (19604)

    1. Thank you for your comments. At this time RAWA cannot comment on any on going investigation, but it is being addressed and we are being proactive with future upgrades to the systems infrastructure. All reports that RAWA submits to DEP can be requested from them. At this time those reports are not posted here, but that you for the suggestion. I will be sure to pass this on.
      Have a nice day.
